What a year!
2012 has been an unbelievable year. I’ve created more commissioned work for others, and more of my work is finding its way onto people’s walls. I also feel I’m continuing to learn and grow as a photographer. I’d like to share with you my favorite 12 images from the past year.
(For this weeks Weekly Photo Challenge theme: Surprise. The “surprise?” I can’t count, my favorite 12 of 2012 is actually 20! Enjoy!)

Very nice!
Thank you!
Jeff,
Well done! You have indeed had a great year!
Thanks Scott!
What a wonderful selection of photos. Do you do any color correction? I am a newbie and am still at the rapidly rise portion of the learning curve.
Thanks Keenan. In virtually all of my photographs the colors have been “worked on.” I firmly believe in “getting it right in camera” when it comes to exposure and composition. “Fix it in Photoshop” is not im my vocabulary. However, with all but my wildlife images, I strive for an artistic representation of the scene before me, and to that end I love and use the full suite of Nik Creative Plugins.
I usually, but not always, have an idea of how I want the final image to look at the time of capture. For any of my images to be successful I want to give the viewer a “WOW” experience when they are viewing one of my photographs. Not have them thinking “that doesn’t even look real.”
I hope that answers your question. If you have any more, feel free to ask.
Beautiful! Hard to pick a favorite.
Thank you, and I’m glad you’re having a tough time choosing. I know I sure did. I gave up trying to limit it to 12, stopping at 20 wasn’t that much easier. 🙂
See? You can’t even decide which are your 12 favorite? Excellent photos Jeff.
And I could have kept going far past 20 too!
Keep going Jeff.
I am truly speechless, and trust me that doesn’t happen often. You have a wonderful gift Jeff!
Thank you so much Cindy.
Looking forward to more lovely photos next year!
I will do my best not to disappoint 🙂
Just Divine
Thank you! 🙂
All of these images are beautiful, Jeff, but the small frog takes first prize, at least in my eyes 🙂
Thank you Lucy. The subject was very cooperative and a pleasure to work with 😀
Definitely worth the 12 spots 🙂
Thank you! Even better with 20 😉 As hard as I tried I just couldn’t limit it to ONLY 12.

All 20 are amazing! and I think I might do a top 12 of 12 or whatever in my own blog. So glad I found your blog (via comment on dailypost)! Nice shots
Thank you very much! I should like to see it when you do. I also hope you have better luck narrowing it down to 12 than I did 😀
Breathtaking!
Thank you! 🙂
Fabulous as usual Jeff. Hard to choose a favorite, but I especially loved Foss Mountain, Hunter, Acadia Sunset, and Color in the Waves. 🙂
Thanks Jude. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that can’t pick just one favorite. 😀
So many beautiful images sharing such a small space. Thank you for the abundance of loveliness.
Thank you, I’m very glad you enjoyed them.
All of these are amazing, Jeff. Thanks for sharing your work with us!
As always, thank you and you are so very welcome. 😀
Although they are all beautiful, I vote for the owl. 😉
Great shots Jeff
I don’t remember seeing this pic of Hunter and “Tenacity” before. Your idea was excellent! In your place I would place the link on the WPC page…. Yours was a beautiful, beautiful year!!!
“Tenacity” was shared for the first time in this post, and except for my facebook page, this is the first appearance (I think) that Hunter has made on my blog. Boy do we love that boy!
Does he look that good in person too?
Oh yes he does, he is a very good looking boy. And about as lovable as you will find anywhere 😀
So beautiful!
So thank you! I’m glad you like them. Your “Best Of” is coming soon right?
I think I will! And they will be lower resolution and will all have a watermark 😉 Seriously…
Yay!!! Since I’ve only really seen some of you most recent photos, I can’t wait!
LOL – coming up tomorrow or Friday 🙂
Spectacular all Jeff! Can imagine how long it must have taken you to shortlist these. The snowy owl in the dunes is my favourite 🙂
Thank you Madhu. You have no idea how hard it was. Next year I might make it easier on myself and go with 30 or so 😉
