From the snow covered summit of Mount Avalon, the Presidential Range can be seen just below a low bank of clouds. The clouds fading from a deep pink to a purple-blue as they pass over the distant mountain range. Mount Washington in the far distance can be seen still bathed in sunlight, it’s summit towering over the surrounding peaks. Golden sunlight breaches the clouds and dapples the mountainsides in several places.

  1. Another lovely picture. After the predominant colour of the blue mountains and even the tinge of blue of the snow, the red of the clouds makes a lovely contrast.

    1. Thanks Chrisstov. This is from my first real winter hike, and even though it was extremely cold, and very windy, the view was totally worth it! Not to mention, hiking out in the dark is somehow very peaceful.
