From the snow covered summit of Mount Avalon, the Presidential Range can be seen just below a low bank of clouds. The clouds fading from a deep pink to a purple-blue as they pass over the distant mountain range. Mount Washington in the far distance can be seen still bathed in sunlight, it’s summit towering over the surrounding peaks. Golden sunlight breaches the clouds and dapples the mountainsides in several places. Down in the valley below is the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Highland Center.
