In Search Of Treasure.
With my recent article for the New England Photography Guild, and my submission to the Juxtaposition Weekly Challenge theme, you all may think I have ice on the brain.
In an effort to remove all doubt, here are a few more frozen treasures to feast your eyes on.
Knockout shots! I am just un-friending the mountain of bad snow and ice shots on my hard drive right now – none of them come close to these…sigh…
All you need to do is spend a little time along a nice mountain stream. In the dead of winter of course, but I know you have it in you 😉
Hummm… No I think I need a new camera. Definitely need an expensive new toy before I can get me some good shots… 🙂
Toys are nice! When you get it, bring it on down and I’ll show you some of my favorite icy spots 😀
Yup – clinical diagnosis would be ice on brain 🙂 All joking aside, these are truly icy treasures!
Thanks Annette. A good doctor would have a field day with me. Ice on the brain would be the least of their findings I”m sure! 😛
More of your ice jewels 🙂 Breathtaking captures again!
Thank you! Mother Nature has the best jewelry box I’ve ever seen. So full of priceless and ever changing gems.
Amazing images, Jeff. I’m still shivering 🙂
Great series of shot Jeff…a wonderful, crisp taste of winter.
Thank you very much Dalo, winter is, I think, my favorite time of year for photography.
Beautiful series!
Thanks!
Wow! These shots are stunning.
This ice looks clean enough to eat…are you sure it’s natural? 😉
Reblogged this on The Beauty of Life.
wow.

A bright spot in the long winter season. Beautiful ice photos taken in New Hampshire by Jeff Sinon.

BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
YES ! These photographs are treasures. I second it !
Thank you kindly! 🙂
Love your winter gallery! Haven’t chatted with you in a while and thought I’d share mine: http://beadstork.wordpress.com/2014/02/14/white-out-snow-on-alabama/
Yes, it has been a while! Lovely set of winter shots, with a few real stand-outs too. I bet you have to act fast though, down there I bet the snow doesn’t last long.
I’m so glad you came by to take a look! I always value your input, novice photographer that I am. And yes, I got up at sunrise to take those shots – the weather was in the 40’s and the snow was almost all gone by 5 PM that day.
We just got about foot Thursday into Friday, with more on the way tonight! Fortunately it isn’t going anywhere soon!!!
Breathtaking shots!
Jeff these are wonderful. Isn’t that scalloped look interesting? Do you know what created that pattern?
Thanks LB. I’m guessing it was created by the variations in the current. There was an entire section of stream, a pretty big section actually, where all the ice on the rocks in the stream and along the shore looked like this. All of the shots with the scalloped ice were taken on the same day, at the same place.
Here’s a shot of my friend Melissa laying out on the ice trying to get a shot. And this is just a small glimpse of the much larger section we photographed.
When we came across this stream, the group of us probably spent at least an hour photographing these really cool shapes.
Love that pic of Melissa! I can see why you all would have spent so much time there … so very, very cool (oh … bad pun).
Yea, she’s a character that’s for sure. We were all teasing her about how filthy the front of that coat was. I thought I spent a lot of time on my hands and knees and stomach taking pictures 😉
The second photo at the top to me is perfect.
Stunning shots.
Thank you!
