    1. Thanks Amy. I’m not much of a car guy, which is a surprise since I’ve been an auto mechanic for over 30 years now, but I do like drag racing. If you ever get the chance to feel a top fuel dragster leave the line I highly recommend it. It is a full body sensation that is a total assault on the senses. πŸ˜€

      1. I know. I’ve been there. I thought my eardrums were gonna blow. Hehehehehehe The smell of gasoline and burned rubber the NOISE … I don’t think I will repeat that experience any time soon. I like quiet. I hear the drag strip from our open windows in our house, oh about 5 miles away. Yup, that is the level of noise I know is there. No thanks. But I did enjoy your photo! xx Amy

          1. Yes it is like the best for a speed lover πŸ™‚ Love the sights and smells of our New England tracks and Indy and Daytona the rest I will watch with feet up πŸ™‚ Thanks for your beautiful photo πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Rick, that would have been a good idea. I’ll remember that next time. If motor sports was more my thing I probably would have thought of it. Usually I spend all my time in the pits photographing bits and pieces of the cars. Some nice airbrush work here, a nicely curved fender there, that kind of stuff. I usually only make it into the stands for the big boys, mostly for the sensation when they leave the line.

    1. Not too much really, only about 7,000. They are also extremely fuel efficient, consuming about 5 gallons of fuel in one quarter-mile run, about 20 gallons, at a cost of about $16/gallon, per mile. πŸ˜€
