Thank you. I only wish I could have gotten further inside the balloon so the ropes wouldn’t be running through the photo. A lot of people have said they add to the photo, I’m not so sure.
Well, that would have been an entirely different photo with a different feeling to it. I’m not implying that one would be better than the other though.
Thanks CG. I was pretty happy to see it when I looked into the inflating balloon. Certainly allowed me to capture something a little different than so many other, similar shots without the setting sun helping me out.
I totally agree! I was really just killing time wandering around the field waiting for the evening launch. I really wasn’t expecting much, just another “inside of an inflating hot air balloon” shot. Fortunately the setting sun and the direction they laid out the balloon, along with the vibrant colors, gave me something a little more unique.
There’s a place nearby where I live that has a hot air balloon show every year. I wanted to make it this year but didn’t know when it was until after people in a photo group I belong to posted some photos. Last year they had mentioned it a couple weeks in advance so I was thinking someone would have mentioned it this year. I’ll have to make sure I mark it on my calendar for next year so I don’t miss it. Great shot.
What an amazing image, Jeff – vibrant with color and yet subtle – the silhouettes of humans I only noticed after the color “shock”. This is definitely a keeper.
Thank you. It’s funny you say that, because I really didn’t notice the color, it was the silhouettes that grabbed my immediate attention as I peaked inside.
Thanks! It’s funny you mention, and good eye for noticing, how perfectly rule of thirds it is. Until you mentioned it I honestly didn’t notice that the line between the wrinkled part of the balloon on the ground and the partially inflated part is almost exactly on the bottom third line. And to make it even more “perfect,” the yellow circle at the top of the balloon and the two main silhouettes are pretty much exactly on one of the intersections of the rule of thirds lines.
Amazing photo! It realy birghtened my day. Good job as always!

Thank you.
Cool and colorful silhouette photo.

The silhouettes are there, but even more splendid are the colors….
Yes, they both caught my eye as soon as I popped my head into the balloon.
Awesome take on the theme, Jeff!
Gee, thanks 🙂
Oh, I love this picture!
Thank you very much, Valentina. As always I value your opinion.
🙂
Oh my, this is an awesome shot and my favorite of the challenge!
Thank you Maya!
This is a fabulous colourful photo – the silhouettes are a bonus!
I totally agree! Though I’m just a little biased 😉
great photo, Jeff!
Thank you
Excellent choice for the theme!
Thanks Gary.
Love the color! You were lucky to be there at this moment!

Thanks Justin. If they do it, don’t miss the night glow. When they light up the balloons at night is pretty cool.

Gorgeous!!!
Thank you!
This is a very unique capture of a hot air balloon. Fantastic, Jeff!
This is definitely the best photo I have seen today! So unique, colorful, textured, and shadowed. Awesome!
Wow, great shot! Great colours, compositions, lines and use of silhouettes. Perfects a bit too perfect à la rule of thirds, though.

Very beautiful photos! I I made more artistic photography but just take a look if you are curious !
Thank you very much, Judy. And thanks for the invite, I’ll stop by as soon as I can.
