Waterfalls, not just for warm weather anymore.
Grab your winter coat and boots, pull on your hat and gloves, it’s time for some waterfalls, frozen and snowy waterfalls.

For those of you who think of waterfalls only when the weather is warm, you don’t know what you’re missing.

Here’s a short video shot clip of Rocky Gorge that I shot this past weekend. Watch it in full screen. Please excuse the jerky camera motion towards the end of the clip, by this point I could barely feel my fingers so flying my drone smoothly was becoming difficult.
Rocky Gorge, The Gorgeous Gorge.
For those of you who may be thinking of attending my upcoming Waterfalls on Ice Photo Tour coming up on February 23rd, here are a few more icy images for you to enjoy.
I love the second shot “flow in the snow”. Unfortunately, the only snow fall this month is today and I’m at work, far away from any waterfall. 😦
Very nice Jeff.
The ice formations are incredible!
Thanks! They are the reason I always bring a telephoto lens along when photographing waterfalls in the winter.
Unfortunately, I do not live near any waterfalls and it rarely gets that cold (apart from a brief spell last year).
No waterfalls, and doesn’t get cold? I wouldn’t know what to do with myself 😀
Such wonderfully stylish photos…snow and Ice…such great subjects.
Thanks, Paula. Winter is a great time for waterfalls.
Great video. I watched it full screen on my 27in iMac at work and it was like watching an imax movie! Sure looks cold though …
I’m glad you liked it. I hope to share more, and better videos in the future. I just need more practice shooting and editing it 🙂
Beautiful shots. I love the three with the icicles.
Those little jewels are one of the best things about photographing waterfalls in the winter!
