Day 29. Wow, has it been almost a month already? I’m not wishing I was getting out to more scenic locales nearly as much as I thought I would. Normally I start getting a bit cranky when I go much longer than a week without heading to the mountains or the seacoast. Then again, under normal conditions I almost never photograph in my own yard, let alone try to get out and photograph every day.
Sadly I think the Isolation Project is going to change a bit. It’s not going away, the project will continue. However, with me starting a new job in an entirely new career this coming Monday, I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep up with the daily posts.
“You should do a book.”
I would also like to take this time to mention that it has been suggested that I put the images from this project into a book or a calendar. Which is exactly what I plan to do. This coming weekend I’m going to start the process of curating which images I’ve made over this past month of social distancing and isolation, and put them into some kind of book format. I’m thinking there will be both a hard and soft cover option, as well as possibly and inexpensive ebook option. Stay tuned for more information.
Be safe. Stay healthy.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with these marvelous photos. And good luck with your new job. You have a lot going on and a lot going for you. Wishing you all the best.
I need to get it in gear as far as putting the book together. The new job is going very well, however the new work schedule has been kicking me in the butt! I had hoped to have something put together by now, but life has intervened.
Sometimes we need more than 24 hours a day!!
Splendid light! Your backyard sure provides with great opportunities, both in the plants around and the different light tones that can shine through at any moment of the day.
I don’t know why but I feel very restricted in both matters here from my bedroom window and the bamboo trees below. I have no idea how to keep taking pictures of the same subject but otherwise… Anyway… terrible problems these days, right?!? 😉
The calendar idea is particularly interesting. Your pictures being stuning, it will definitely be quite a gift to get!
And have a great time starting at the new job!
xoxo
Marvellous light, Jeff! like you, I may be making a book of my isolation project images, prompted by friends at my camera club (we have been meeting on Zoom, and very enjoyable that has been).
All the best with your new job!
Such golden light – lovely! Good luck with the new position – what will you be doing?
Thanks!
What a beautiful light!
So golden. So calming. I do still miss getting out to my favourite places. It was never just about photography. It was a form of therapy.
