
As has often been the case during this wonderful pandemic, I needed look no further than my own back yard for a little photographic inspiration.


As I peered out into the backyard I noticed all of these wonderful shadows cast across the snow. Given the subject I figured monochrome was the way to go, and in order to better see how the final images might look in black and white, I set my Fujifilm X100S to Monochrome and headed into the snow.

Good or bad, for better or worse, I had to snap a few shots before the sun got too high into the sky.
And before our dog, Riley had a chance to run through the untracked snow.
That header image is really lovely. It caught my attention. The black/white/shadows are captivating.
That’s the one that caught my eye as I was letting the dog out. I grabbed my camera and headed out into the yard as soon as I saw it.
